The YSRCP Chief and Opposition leader in Andhra Pradesh Assembly YS Jaganmohan Reddy earlier took the government for task for the deaths of tribals and spread of viral fever in agency areas. Speaking to media person after visiting the suffering tribals in Rampachodavaram area hospital in Eastgodavari district, Jagan Reddy observed that the indifferent attitude of the government on health care and lack of proper drinking water facilities in agency areas had driven the situation from bad to worse. The Opposition leader on a two day tour in East Godavari district agency areas observed that the government seems to have no respect for poor tribal people’s lives. Why no notification was issued for the appointment of doctors in agency areas, he asked. No improvement is seen in the living condition the people in agency areas despite repeated visits, he regretted. He said the tribals living in agency area are venerable to seasonal or viral fever and other health hazards as they were very anemic and week, thanks to government apathy. There were no roads, no drinking water facilities hence the tribals were forced to take contaminated water and falling ill, he explained and demanded the government to provide drinking water facilities on war footing. Stating that he learned from medical staff that 108 vehicles are stranded at hospitals because of scarcity in diesel supply, it is shame on the face of government, he quipped. It is nothing but the failure of the government he said and added that the Chief Minister vows an explanation to the people, the YSCP Chief said.
